Tiger Woods has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence two days ago, but soon after this unfortunate event, the famous golfer released an official statement about the whole incident.
The news about his DUI hit his fans hard and managed to become a sensation online on various social media due to his mug shot.
Unexpected Reaction To Prescribed Medications
Woods, however, insisted that alcohol wasn’t involved and that it was all due to his medication.
“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” the pro golfer said, via ABC News.
“I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
“I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans,” Tiger added. “I expect more from myself too.”
Tiger Woods was arrested on Memorial Day (Monday, 29th of May) in Jupiter, Florida. A Jupiter Police PIO later confirmed that the pro golfer was taken into custody around 3 a.m. and was released with no bond about 8 hours later.
The whole story about the unexpected reaction to prescribed medications might seem plausible since we know that Woods has had multiple back surgeries over the years.
“Sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me,” tiger wrote on his blog recently.
We wish him fast recovery.
