Anne Hathaway is an awesome and very talented actress, but for some reason she was widely disliked about 4 years ago, and she still doesn’t know why exactly.
In a recent interview with Jezebel magazine, during a press junket for her upcoming movie “Colossal,” Hathaway opened up and talked about that strange and difficult period of her life when everybody hated her.
It Has Nothing To Do With Me
The Les Miserables star admitted she often gets asked about being disliked even today, but said that even though she felt rather vulnerable back in the day, she decided to move on.
“It’s not that I’ve gotten a rhino skin to it, but I sort of see all of that for what it is. … How the world feels about me has nothing to do with me. How other people treat me has nothing to do with me,” said Hathaway.
And not only did she move on, the stoic actress realized she could take all that inexplicable hatred to her own advantage. Instead of wallowing in her sorrow, Anne decided to work on herself.
“But if anything that anybody said resonated with me as something I’d like to work on for myself, I took it in like that,” she recalls.
“And to that extent, I feel like I got to shortcut a lot of my growth. To that extent, even though I wouldn’t have chosen to go through it, I still found a way to be grateful to it.”
Way to go, Anne!
